With over 80 years experience in Mechanical Engineering, Portsmouth Aviation provides a complete engineering solution to AS 9100 Rev. B and ISO 9001: 2008 standards, from design and development, qualification, trials and certification to manufacture or mass production of the finished product.

The Company’s comprehensive conventional and CNC machining and fabrication facilities extend to almost 10,000 square meters on a single purpose-built site.


Machining

Modern CNC machinery with offline Mastercam, is supported by a large conventional machine shop and first class CNC measurement machines. Facilities which enable us to efficiently manufacture in small and medium batch production.

Machine capabilities include:

  • CNC Turning Centres to 500mm diameter

Supported by our extensive design studios and with a total manufacturing capability that includes metal treatment, finishing and packaging, Portsmouth Aviation provides a machining and fabrication service with comprehensive back-up.


Fabrication

Within our spacious fabrication and assembly facilities are sufficient metal fabrication equipment to make us largely self-sufficient no matter how complex the product or system, including turret press, bending machines, rolling machines and power presses.


Welding

Our highly trained welders are approved to British Standard EN 288 and submit test pieces on a regular basis. Welding techniques include MIG and TIG, MMA, Resistance/Spot Welding and Induction Brazing/ Soldering. PA also offers a comprehensive NDT facility including Dye Penetrant and Magnetic Particle examination.

A comprehensive suite of measuring and testing facilities including a modern CNC Co-ordinate Measuring Machine with capacity of 1100 x 1500 x 750mm in addition to in-house testing equipment;
